- Born in Washington on 19 October 1963
- She is a British singer, actress and television personality
- She was sent to boarding school in East Sussex, and ballet school in Tunbridge Wells
- Her mum is Miquel Brown, a disco-soul singer in the 1970s and 1980s who had huge hits with “So Many Men – So Little Time” and “He’s a Saint, He’s a Sinner”
- As a teenager in the UK she landed roles in West End shows including Cats, Little Shop Of Horrors and Mutiny!
- At just 14, she appeared as a backing dancer with Eighties soul pop group Imagination on The Tube.
- At 15 she joined dance troupe Hot Gossip and released her first single, Break Me Into Little Pieces – the same year she was also in the video for the Forrest hit song Rock The Boat
- She was signed by Simon Cowell to release her debut single, So Macho, in 1986. It went to Number Two. She went on to become Simon Cowell’s girlfriend for a while, too.
- She has been a mentor on The X Factor and to help the contestants stop stressing about their performances – she stripped off – wearing some carefully arranged palm leaves.
- In the 2000s, she became known for television appearances, on Loose Women, The Xtra Factor and This Morning. She took part in the ITV show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2011.
- She was a contestant on Dancing on Ice in 2010
